Wild Iris Medical Education is an eCommerce / educational company that
creates and sells CEU (Continuing Education Unit) courses online to
medical professions.
During my 7+ years at the company, I was the
sole person responsible for design, coding and maintenance
of the front end of the main website and its sister sites.
This included new sections (Nursing Licenses, State
curriculums), helpful information widgets (course
toolbar, profession information, CAI info display),
integration of external services (Referral Rock,
Hotjar), Wordpress Blog, and much more.
Below, you can review...
Wild Iris Website
The main website presents customers with a portal to review available
courses, complete a course, and register/purchase certification.
I worked closely with my team to develop various user flows and
interactions, designed the user interface and coded the front end with
HTML, CSS, Javascript and the Bootstrap framework.
In addition, I handled regular updates to the content on the website
as well as developed projects that expanded functionality.
UI Design Examples:
Screenshots of key pages used the new UI Designs.
Utilizing a clean, easy to use UI designed to effectively funnel customers via their professions to a list of courses, where they could then take and register a course to receive certification.
UX Design Examples:
A flowchart illustrating the step-by-step journey of an incoming
customer on our website, highlighting how they could successfully
complete a course and obtain certification.
It served as a vital reference for our team, enabling us to visualize
the main customer flows and identify areas for enhancing the overall
user experience.
Wild Iris Wordpress Blog
The Wild Iris Wordpress Blog highlights the latest news in medical
CEU, helpful articles for professionals in the field, and much more.
I designed, installed and developed the Wordpress site. And continued
to maintain the site, updating it with new content, improving SEO and
adding functionality.
The site was constructed using a custom Astra theme and incorporated
essential plugins to optimize SEO (YoastSEO), enhance security (WP
Security), and ensure emergency backup capabilities (UpdraftPlus).
These plugins played a crucial role in improving the website's
performance, visibility, and overall reliability.
NurseCEU.com
NurseCEU is a sister site also run by the Wild Iris brand. Its mission
is to help nurses find the nursing CEU courses needed for their
nursing license renewal. Following an affiliate marketing model,
revenue is generated by attracting CEU providers to advertise and list
their courses.
My responsibilites were to re-design the look of the original website
and code the relevent html/css blocks used in the Drupal installation.
I also continued to maintain the website updating it with new content
as needed.
